DESCRIPTIONThe ISO7240, ISO7241 and ISO7242 are quad-channel digital isolators with multiple channel configurations and
output enable functions. These devices have logic input and output buffers separated by TI’s silicon dioxide
(SiO2) isolation barrier. Usedin conjunction with isolated power supplies, these devices block high voltage,
isolate grounds, and prevent noise currents from entering the local ground and interfering withor damaging
sensitive circuitry.
The ISO7240 has all four channelsin the same direction while the ISO7241 has three channels the same
direction and one channelin opposition. The ISO7242 has two channelsin each direction.
TheC option devices have TTL input thresholds anda noise-filterat the input that prevents transient pulses from
being passedto the outputof the device. TheM option devices have CMOS VCC/2 input thresholds and do not
have the input noise-filteror the additional propagation delay.
The ISO7240CF has an input disable functionon pin7, anda selectable highor low failsafe-output function with failsafe-outputisa logic high whena logic-highis placed on the CTRL pinoritis leftis appliedto the CTRL pin, the failsafe-output becomesa logic-low output function prevents data from being passed across the isolation barrierto the are disabled, the outputs are setby the CTRL pin.or 5-Vin any 3.3-V/ 3.3-V, 5-V/ 5-V, the signal regardlessof the voltage over the ambient temperature rangeto 125°C.
