General Description
The LM392 series consistsof2 independent building block
circuits. Oneisa high gain, internally frequency compensat- operational amplifier,andthe otherisa precision voltage
comparator. Boththe operational amplifierandthe voltage
comparator havebeen specifically designedto operate from single power supply overa wide rangeof voltages. Both
circuits have input stages whichwill common-mode input
downto ground when operating froma singlepower supply.
Operation from split power suppliesis also possibleandthe
low power supply currentis independentofthe magnitudethe supply voltage.
Application areas include transducer amplifier with pulse
shaper,DC gain block with level detector, VCO,as wellas
all conventional operational amplifieror voltage comparator
circuits. Both circuitscanbe operated directly fromthe stan-
dard5 VDC power supply voltage usedin digital systems,
andthe outputofthe comparatorwill interface directlywith
either TTLor CMOS logic.In addition,thelow power drain
makes theLM392 extremely usefulin thedesignof portable
equipment.
