DESCRIPTIONThe SN75DP120isa single port Dual-Mode DisplayPort (DP++) repeater that regenerates the DP high speed
digital link.
Four levelsof differential output voltage swing (VOD) and four levels of pre-emphasis are supportedin
accordance with the DisplayPort specification version 1.1a.The device monitors the AUX channel and
automatically adjusts the output signaling levelsin responseto link training commands. The SN75DP120 also
supports multiple selectable levelsof equalizationto provide improved signal integrityin cases where the input
link hasa high levelof loss. The equalization level will be automatically selected based on link training. The
equalizationin the DP120is optimizedto compensate lossesof upto 6dB for frequencies upto 1.35GHz. This
correspondsto approximately 18–24 inchesof FR4 trace with 4–6mil width. builtin level translator for the hot plug detect (HPD) line and level translator/ inverter for the cable adapter
detect line (CAD) allow fora reductionof the overall circuitry neededfora DisplayPort source system.
When notin use, the SN75DP120 device supportsan ultra low power shutdown mode.In this mode the main link
outputs are disabled and pulledto GND, and the device draws less then40µ Wof power.
The deviceis characterized foran extended operational temperature range from 0°Cto 85°C.
